Client Testimonials

Making Life Changes

"I was afraid to make that first call, and unsure whether counselling would even help. Janet seemed to understand from the perspective of another women - and I felt I could relate to her easily. She helped me to see that I didn't have to stay stuck in my current situation and that there were options I could consider that would make me so much happier. She reminded me that I was the one making all of the hard changes but she was there to help me navigate the way." Sally, PEI

Surviving the Affair

"My partner was the one who suggested counselling, and after the affair I was willing to try anything to stay together. I felt ashamed that first day, and afraid the counsellor would judge me, but I actually felt as if she was there to support both me and my wife, and I actually looked forward to going back for a second appointment. She has given us homework to do in between sessions, and for the first time in a while I think there might be some hope that we'll get through this." Jack, PEI

Managing ADD

"I was only diagnosed as having ADD as an adult, and struggled with knowing how to better manage some of my behaviours. Janet offered suggestions for me to try, and I began to realize that even though I am not going to change who I am -  there are skills  I can learn that will make me feel way more in control of my life." Coping with Anxiety

"Originally I would never have admitted to any of my friends and co-workers that I was seeing a counsellor. In my industry as a tradesperson it felt weak to me, like I couldn't manage things on my own. My anxiety has been significantly better since I began counselling, and now I tell everyone they should go! Don't get me wrong - there are still times when I feel pretty anxious - but the work we are doing together makes me feel better able to manage it when it gets really bad." Brett, NS

Navigating Perimenopause

"I needed a counsellor who wasn't afraid to talk about things that really mattered to me - like what I think is real in the world and what might happen after we die. Janet didn't impose her beliefs on me, but she created a space where I could totally be myself and say whatever was on my mind - including what I was going through as I entered my forties and started to experience symptoms of perimenopause. Above all, she encouraged me to trust my intuition and helped me to see the wisdom within my own body." Jess, PEI

Supporting a Dyslexic Child

"I felt powerless as a parent, struggling to know how to best help my daughter who had recently been diagnosed with a learning disability. The recommendations in the report I received didn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Janet met with both me and my daughter and we have come up with strategies that actually seem to work for her. Last week was the first time we got through her homework without any tears !" Sandy, CB
